Steeped in Tradition, Moving with the Times.

With over 65 years of excellence, Scoil Uí Nualláin nurtures dancers from their first steps to the world stage.

Founded by Irish dance pioneers Tony & Rose Nolan, Scoil Uí Nualláin is etched into the fabric of Limerick’s cultural heritage, its influence—and that of the dancers who have passed through its doors - felt across the global Irish dance community. Now led by Ciara Sexton & their son Cian Nolan, the school remains a place of excellence, artistry, and inclusivity, where dancers of all levels step into a legacy that continues to shape the art form..

In the heart of Limerick, where the echoes of generations past still whisper through the halls, Scoil Uí Nualláin stands as a guardian of tradition and a beacon for the future. For over 65 years, we have nurtured dancers, shaping them not only in skill but in spirit, forging a path from the first tentative steps to the world’s grandest stages.

Under the guidance of Cian Nolan, ADCRG, and Ciara Sexton, TCRG, our dancers embody the grace of the old ways and the brilliance of new possibilities. With experience honed on the stages of Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, and the height of Championship success, they pass forward the knowledge, discipline, and artistry that have defined Irish dance for centuries.

Scoil Uí Nualláin is more than a school; it is a legacy, a place where passion and excellence meet, where every dancer—whether stepping onto the floor for the first time or training for the world stage—finds a home. Here, tradition is not something left behind; it is something carried forward, alive in every movement, every rhythm, every new dancer who joins our family.

Our Legacy - Over 65 Years of Excellence in Irish Dance

For over six decades, Scoil Uí Nualláin has been a pillar of Irish dance education in Limerick, shaping generations of dancers who have excelled on the world stage. Established in 1959 by the esteemed Tony & Rose Nolan, the school has built a reputation for excellence, tradition, and innovation.

From its humble beginnings in O'Connell Street, Limerick, to producing over 50 World Championship titles, Scoil Uí Nualláin is more than just a dance academy—it is a legacy in motion.

Removing Barriers, Irish Dance For All.

At Scoil Uí Nualláin, we believe that every child deserves the chance to dance, regardless of financial circumstances. Starting a new activity should be about joy, not financial worry, yet the cost of shoes and costumes can often be a barrier for families.

Each year, we raise funds to provide beginner dancers with the essentials, allowing parents to introduce their children to Irish dance without upfront costs or long-term commitments. This ensures that every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to step onto the dance floor, discover their potential, and be part of something truly special.
